Jane Dimond

Jane lives near Henry VIII’s old hunting ground in South West London, where she loves hanging out with the deer. She can hear the stags’ roars from her home, but having a wildlife safari on her doorstep is one of the best causes of sleep disturbance she can think of.

Her books are playful and observant, and she enjoys weaving facts into her fiction. A newspaper article about the intelligence of crows sparked the idea for her first book Clear off, Crow!, which was awarded ‘reader’s favourite’ in the 2021 Write Mentor Awards.

Motherhood fuelled Jane’s long-held interest in education, and after three decades' working as a journalist and TV producer/director, she swapped the media for the mayhem of the classroom, where she can often be found indulging her passion for purple stationery. She hopes to inspire the next generation with lessons full of heart and laughter.

Jane loves watching The Wombles at fans-owned football club AFC Wimbledon, and also enjoys the odd bit of campanology. She dreams of snow drifting past the windows as she rings in her local church’s magical bell tower, but the weather is yet to oblige.
